This ad was quite topical for Old Parliament House during the Federal election campaign. For the first time our politicians began using the internet as a tool to reach the masses in contrast to the methods of the old days featured here.

This invitation to the ‘Billy Hughes at War’ Exhibition at Old Parliament House used the same 1915 wording of the grave conscription question put to all Australians.Will you vote ‘YES' or 'NO' to send all your sons to war? Today’s Australians arrived to the opening wearing ‘YES’ or ‘NO’ badges where actors challenged their views, recreating the tension of the times.
